Welcome, students, to the CSS 2007 & Seed Expo!
The CSS 2007 and Seed Expo is the largest seed industry convention in the world and offers a variety of services and benefits for student attendees:
- Free registration with valid student ID: fax the printed registration form with a copy of your student ID to ASTA at (703) 837-9365.
The new FuSE (Future Seed Executives) Career Lounge at the Seed Expo:
The FuSE Career Lounge will feature a Career Opportunities center where you can browse available positions and confidentially submit your resume. Be sure to bring multiple copies! The lounge also offers graduate students in agricultural programs a chance to present a Poster Presentation on their thesis study.
- FuSE (Future Seed Executives) Meeting:
The Future Seed Executives (FuSE) initiative became an official sub-committee of the American Seed Trade Association's (ASTA) Management Skills Committee in 2004. FuSE focuses on educating and supporting future seed industry executives, namely those with fewer than seven years of seed industry experience.
This active group will hold a meeting at CSS 2007 on Thursday, December 6 at 4:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
- To present a Poster Presentation within the FuSE Career Lounge:
The Corn, Sorghum and Soybean Program Planning Committees of the American Seed Trade Association are pleased to invite graduate students in corn, sorghum and soybean breeding programs to present a poster summarizing their thesis work at the 62nd Corn and Sorghum Seed Research Conference/37th Soybean Seed Research Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity for networking and adding to your resume!
Students who wish to present posters must register and send a notification with their name, title of their poster, university affiliation, and name of their major professor to Jennifer Lord (jlord@amseed.org) by November 15. If more than 30 requests are received, the Planning Committee will select those to be used at the meeting.
Posters will be displayed in the Riverside Exhibition Hall at the Hyatt Regency Chicago as part of the Seed Expo, to be held December 4 - 6, 2007. Students must be present with their posters to discuss their work with conference attendees from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on December 4 and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on December 5.
